Google, anchetat în Germania

google_birouProcurorii germani au declanşat o investigaţie împotriva companiei Google, după ce gigantul american a recunoscut că a copiat, prin intermediul maşinilor care fac fotografii pentru serviciul Google Maps, fragmente din  activităţile online ale utilizatorilor prin reţele Wi-Fi nesecurizate.

Procurorul Wilhelm Moellers a declarat, miercuri, pentru agenţia de ştiri Deutsche Auslands-Depeschendienst că a declanşat investigaţia după ce la procuratură a fost depusă o plângere împotriva unor angajaţi ai Google ale căror nume nu au fost dezvăluite.

Google a recunoscut încălcarea intimităţii printr-o declaraţie prin care şi-a cerut scuze. Google a anunţat că a descoperit recent greşeala şi a dat vina pe o eroare de programare. Compania a început să colecteze datele din 2007 în peste 30 de ţări, inclusiv România. Cantitatea datelor strânse se ridică la 600 de GB.

Ministrul german pentru protecţia consumatorilor, Ilse Aigner, a spus că „alarmantul incident” arată că Google nu înţelege nevoia de intimitate.

Compania a anunţat că va şterge informaţiile. „Nu este acceptabil ca o companie care operează în Uniunea Europeană să nu respecte regulile europene”, a declarat Viviane Reading,  comisarul european pentru telecomunicaţii.
